Here’s how this role will help:

  • Coordination of Data Protection activities for the Mylan affiliates in Germany, Austria and Switzerland
  • Responsible for assisting in the implementation and continuous enhancement of Mylan’s Regional data privacy program, and for implementing global initiatives of Mylan’s Data Privacy Office (MDPO)
  • Partner to the German, Austrian and Swiss business in providing information to the business regarding data privacy; consulting with the business regarding compliance to local and EU data privacy regulations and taking on the day-to-day responsibility for local data privacy and compliance reporting
  • Forward privacy complaints made by staff or non-staff to the MDPO and assist Mylan Chief Privacy Officer (CPO), Legal and other parties as appropriate in responding to and remediating a privacy complaint, in compliance with Mylan’s Global Complaint Management Procedure
  • Forward Data Subject Rights (DSR) requests to the MDPO and assist in responding to and remediating such requests, in compliance with Mylan’s GDPR Data Subject Rights Procedure
  • Assist the MDPO in carrying out a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) where notified by a business function of an intention to commence new processing of existing personal data or collection and processing of the personal data of new data subjects
  • Where an update to country data processing inventory – Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) – is required based on outcome of a DPIA, follow up with the relevant business functions to update or create the RoPA and provide final RoPA to the MDPO for tracking
  • Notify the MDPO of any potential or actual data breaches that they become aware of and assist in the response and remediation if and when required
  • Assist in the periodic review of company operations and business environments to identify potential data privacy risk areas
  • Act as contact point for questions and requests for advice from staff regarding Data Protection rights and responsibilities and, where appropriate, provide such advice and/or notify MDPO
  • Send or follow up on communications coming from the CPO and/or MDPO. Participation in regional and local projects and ad-hoc tasks as required

Here are the qualifications required for this position:

  • Solid knowledge of the German Data Protection Regulation (BDSG) requirements; knowledge of the BDSG (new) and the GDPR (DSGVO) are an asset. We may also consider adequate candidates with only limited professional experience in the area if the candidate is interested and strongly willing to get acquainted with Data Protection tasks quickly. Potential educational backgrounds include – but are not limited to – business administration or legal studies, in each case including degrees from universities of applied sciences
  • Knowledge of Swiss data protection law is a plus
  • German language skills on native-speaker-level
  • Fluent in English
